Project MA-01
The Maserati Biturbo-Shamal Restomod is a tribute to the most iconic dynasty of the Trident car models. It is a manifesto of both the “Made in Italy” philosophy and the “Made in Modena” sport cars elegance.
The muscular design is the desire to modernize and bring the Biturbo-Shamal’s lines into the 21st century tailored to the new mechanicals, safety and confort. Widened track widths to accommodate larger wheels and upgraded brakes to discharge to the ground the 500 HP of the V6 Twin Turbo engine chosen to propel the car are a distinctive feature of Project MA-01.
DAY 1
The redesigned front-end accommodates a LED headlights set in an exposed carbon casing, enlarged air intakes and a splitter necessary to keep sporty performance at bay. The hood and side have sharp lines and polished surfaces interrupted only by the necessary air intakes.
The rear integrates the new headlights into a new sector that contrasts with the bodywork. The large extractor with incorporated exhausts and the rear spoiler with an aerodynamic function complete this amazing and unique look of Project MA-01.
Restomod is Forever
The word restomod comes from the combination of the words restored and modified.
Restomods started out as a small trend in the late 1980s in the USA and significantly grew ever since, crossed the Atlantic, arrived in the UK and it is now a special practice across Europe mainly in Italy, Germany, France, Sweden .. where there are a few automobile ateliers like Modena Automobili that design bespoke restomods of single brands and models mainly from the 70’s and 80’s.
A restomod is a type of vehicle restoration that combines vintage cars classic design and style with modern technology and components.
Unlike traditional restoration that aims to preserve a vehicle’s factory-original condition, restomod cars involve modern components and technologies like electronic fuel injectors, performance brakes, advanced suspension systems, state-of-art infotainment systems, safety features and modern and powerful powertrains.
